Christy Chung, Who's Almost 50, Has This To Say To People Who Accuse Her Of “Acting Young”
The ‘90s bombshell also addressed the speculations she and her husband were praying for a son.
Remember when bodacious ‘90s bombshell and hot mama-of-three Christy Chung got slammed by hateful, bo liao netizens for dressing ‘inappropriately’ for her 49 years of age? Well, it’s officially safe to say that she really doesn’t care about what others think of her.
In a recent interview, Christy, who turns an unbelievable 50 in a couple of weeks, shared that she has no anxiety at all when it comes to ageing. She also said she doesn’t feel old ‘cos, like her young daughters, she likes things that are considered ‘new’ and ‘trendy’.
She was also very candid when addressing the accusations that she likes to “act young” (whatever that means), saying: “I’ve never pretended to act young. The things I’ve liked ever since I was 14 are still considered trendy today, so why should I change? Is it ‘cos I’m half-a-century old?”
In case you’re wondering, those things she has liked since she was a teenager include camouflage prints, shiny items, and fluorescent colours, which we guess some stuffy folks might consider ‘too young’ for a woman her age.
And Christy has something to say to those who think like that: “Age is just a number. What matters are your attitude and dreams.”
Christy also took the opportunity to address the speculation that she and her husband, Chinese actor Shawn Zhang (also known as Zhang Lunshuo), are praying for a son after the couple was spotted visiting a temple in July.
Well, it turned out to be true. According to Christy, her mother-in-law is from Shandong and has a more traditional mindset, so it’s only natural that she would want her only son, Shawn, to give her a grandchild. However, Christy clarified that she went to pray for a son not for the sake of her mother-in-law, but for herself.
While Shawn is known to get along very well with Christy’s daughters from her previous two marriages (all three of them have taken his surname despite not being his biological children), she said that he would love to have a kid of his own with Christy. That being said, Christy said that they will still let nature take its course, and it’ll just be a nice bonus if it really happens.
