SINGAPORE — Services along the Bukit Panjang LRT have been disrupted, SMRT announced on Twitter on Monday evening (March 9).
SINGAPORE — Train services on the Bukit Panjang LRT was disrupted this evening, with preliminary investigation indicating that two power tie-breakers at Senja LRT station were damaged.
A Land Transport Authority (LTA) spokesperson said services would not resume this evening and SMRT will be repairing the faulty tie-breakers after revenue hours today.
“As a contingency measure for tonight, we have instructed SMRT to deploy replacement buses and service staff at the stations to assist commuters with their travel,” said the spokesperson.
Earlier, SMRT tweeted at 6pm that there were no train services in both of the LRT network’s directions, and that public and shuttle buses were available at the affected stations.
This breakdown comes after SMRT pledged to do better on rail network reliability, following a spate of breakdowns in the past two weeks.
For future updates, the LTA advised commuters to check for updates on the SMRT and LTA Facebook accounts, LTA Traffic News and Twitter.
