Warm beer, a missing bottle opener and outdoor bugs are just some of the things that can ruin a good party. Not to worry: We are here to help, just in time for the Christmas-NYE-CNY party stretch. You’re welcome!

1. MIA Bottle Opener

Source: Makeagif.com Can't find the bottle opener? Open it with the table. Tuck the gap below the bottle cap on the side of a table, and give the top of the bottle a hard knock with your fist. The cap should come right off. To be safe, use a table you’re cool with leaving a mark on, not the antique family heirloom passed down for generations. 2. Freeze Beer Fast
Wet a rag or a sheet of paper towel and wrap it around the bottle of beer before leaving it in the freezer. Check on it in about 10 to 15 minutes — it'll chill a lot faster than a naked bottle. Just don’t forget to remove it or you’ll be left with a block of frozen beer. (We don’t have a solution to reverse the process quickly). 3. Watermelon Beer Keg
Source: Makeagif.com Cut a watermelon one third down from the top. Hollow it out, and cut a hole the size of a wine cork at its base, and plug it with a spare cork you have around the house. Pour beer in, and if you’ve got yourself a nifty watermelon beer keg. If you like, freeze the watermelon pulp you’ve removed, crush it and throw it into your new keg for beer-melon slushies. 4. Beer Marinade
Source: Makeagif.com Show you have more skills in the kitchen other than being able to crack open 10 beer bottles in a row (still impressive, don’t get us wrong). Beer can be used to marinate and tenderise meat because it is slightly acidic. Poke a few holes in your slab of meat, throw it in a Ziplock bag, and add beer along with your usual herbs and spices. Leave it in the refrigerator the night before your party and it’ll be ready for cooking up something awesome for your guests. Sadly, uncooked meat does not make beer taste better so don’t drink the marinade, okay? 5. Quit Buggin’
Source: Giphy.com If you find your outdoor shindig being harassed by pesky flying bugs, set a bowl or two of beer a distance away from the party. The sugars in the brew should divert said insects’ attention and lend you some reprieve. This is a temporary fix though – you really ought to find out where all those bugs are coming from. 6. Recycle
Source: Giphy.com What? That’s a trick? Well, not exactly. But most people don’t recycle even though it’s pretty darn simple. Just make sure you have bags that are clearly marked for glass and cans at your next party and most of your guests will be happy to do their bit. You’ll head to bed happy knowing you not only had a great party but also did a little something for the environment.
